Teens get pregnant every day and they dont realize how much it will affect their life. Teens have many reasons for choosing to get pregnant. In the article, Teen Pregnancy - 3 main reasons teens get pregnant, it talks about how a major reason teens turn to pregnancy is for love. They want their boyfriend to love them and the baby they are carrying. They can also experience the unconditional love from the baby they have.
"Teens seems to think their invincible and nothing bad will ever happen to them.. but the truth is that pregnancy does happen and many of them never even believed that having sex would make them pregnant." said Victoria. I agree with that because being a teen myself, we generally never think anything bad will happen to us.
Also in the article, The Reasons Teens Get Pregnant, another reason would be by force. "While actual force to have sex is rare, many teenage girls (especially those under the age of 15) feel pressured to have sex." the article explained. In addition, it explains that teens arent getting enough sex education in schools, which means teens don't understand the responsibility of a baby. Teens dont get taught on how important contraceptives are if you are sexually active.
Lastly, in the article, The real mistake in 'teen pregnancy', some researchers say that teen mothers have babies and get pregnant because they are using a strategy to get food to nurture them and the baby.
"Teenage motherhood may actually make economic sense for poorer young women, some research suggests." says researchers. I agree because people can get more attention if they are pregnant.

Jennifer, the dynamics behind teen pregnancy are as follows.
ReplyDeleteThe adult birth rate
Poverty
Sex Abuse
Violent, chaotic households
Older/younger economic attraction
Lack of reproductive health care as an un-pregnant female
Educational failure
Lack of competing choices
Male abandonment
The fact that a teen birth is often a good choice
In short, teen pregnancy is an adult-created, adult-perpetuated, adult- driven problem. The adult society we live in "forces" teens into social corners, and pregnancy is one of the responses. Teens can't solve it, only adults.
